Our Ingredients

At the small bakehouse, we don't really agree with eating over processed, mass produced food that contains only the cheapest ingredients for the maximum profit, food that is made with no consideration given to health and well being or the environment.

Instead, we use the real thing. we feed you exactly what we feed ourselves.....only what we eat at home with our family (and mama gee has really high standards)

We endeavour to bring you cakes that look fantastic and taste delicious, AND that nurture your heart and nourish your soul. we only buy from trustworthy sources, locally, fresh and in season and we think and plan carefully how to minimise our carbon footprint and maximise our positive output.

We bake with....

The best - pure organic butter, eggs fresh from our neighbour's farm, madagascan vanilla pods, fair trade foundation chocolate and cocoa, raw beetroot juice instead of red food colouring, organic irish oats, local honey from next door's orchard, home made dulce de leche caramel, maple syrup, lemon curd,

And we do tell you about everything that goes into the mixing bowl, it's written on the label; no extras, no fillers, just what it says.

Handmade with organic flour, unrefined sugar, organic butter, free range eggs, green and black's fair trade organic cocoa, mixed berries, cream cheese, organic beetroot juice,  dove's farm baking powder, marshmallows, green and black's fair trade oragnic chocolate and lots of love x

We wrap with.....

Paper and string - sustainable, renewable, reusable, recycled or biodegradable and compostable packaging such as glass preserving jars, cotton and hemp string, wooden birch forks, brown craft paper bags and boxes, sugar cane and palm wood plates,

And we will make to order so that we meet your exact individual needs and minimise waste.

NO....processed hydrogenated fats such as margarine

NO...additives or anything beginning with an E

NO....artificial sweeteners or colourings

NO...flavourings - natural or artificial

NO... fillers or bulking agents

NO....processed salt

Allergen info: We bake our special orders of gluten free, dairy free and nut/seed free or vegan cake on a separate day to all other cake and whilst we do take super douper care, please be aware that we do use products containing allergens - gluten, dairy, eggs, sesame and nuts in our bakehouse kitchen during the rest of the week, xx
